With an automatic KO, Giratina VSTAR is one of the strongest cards, and this guide shows the Lost Zone Deck List and how to play it in Pokemon TCG!
Lost Zone Deck (Giratina VSTAR) Guide for Pokemon TCG
In Pokemon TCG, the Lost Zone Deck is based on the Giratina VSTAR Pokemon card. With this deck, you will race to reach 7 and then 10 cards in the Lost Zone. Once this is achieved, you will unlock powerful attacks including Star Requiem which is an automatic Knockout. With this automatic KO and secondary attack, Lost Impact, the Lost Zone deck has the firepower to take out any card in Pokemon Meta.
We will go through a Lost Zone Deck list, a guide on how to play it, and the crucial cards. Let’s first show you the deck list so you understand the premise behind the Pokemon TCG: Lost Zone Deck (Giratina VSTAR) Deck Guide.
What Is the Lost Zone in Pokemon TCG
The Lost Zone is a special place in the Pokémon Trading Card Game where cards that go there cannot be recovered. Unlike the discard pile, cards in the Lost Zone are permanently gone for the rest of the game.
Below is a list of how you can put cards in the Lost Zone in Pokemon TCG:
- Supporter: Colress’s Experiment
- Items: Lost Vacuum
- Stadium: Lost City
- Pokemon: Comfey
The Lost Zone can be a powerful tool for players who know how to use it. Some Pokémon and Trainer cards have more powerful effects when there are more cards in the Lost Zone. For example, the Pokémon card Giratina VSTAR has an attack that automatically knocks out an enemy regardless of HP. However, this VSTAR ability requires 10 or more cards in the Lost Zone.
Overall, the Lost Zone is a unique and powerful mechanic in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. It can be used to both strengthen your strategy and disrupt your opponent’s strategy. In this article, Pokemon TCG: Lost Zone Deck (Giratina VSTAR) Guide and List, we explain a sample and effective Lost Zone deck.

Key Cards in Lost Zone Deck (Giratina VSTAR)
While Giratina VSTAR is the centerpiece of the deck, there will be Items, Supporters, and Pokemon that also center on the Lost Zone. You need to understand how each of them either uses the Lost Zone to attack or can feed cards into the Lost Zone. So, here are the most important cards in the new Giratina VSTAR Lost Zone deck and how to use them.
Below are the most essential key cards in the Lost Zone Deck:
- Giratina VSTAR: Damage Pokemon
- Comfey: Lost Zone feeder Pokemon
- Colress’s Experiment: Supporter Lost Zone feeder
- Mirage Gate: Powers Giratina VSTAR
- Jet Energy: Free retreat and energy
Giratina VSTAR
Giratina VSTAR Features in Pokemon TCG:
- Pokémon: VSTAR
- Type: Dragon
- HP: 280
- Star Requiem: 1 Grass 1 Psychic – You can use this attack only if you have 10 or more cards in the Lost Zone. Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is Knocked Out. (You can’t use more than 1 VSTAR Power in a game.)
- Lost Impact: 280 damage + Put 2 Energy attached to your Pokémon in the Lost Zone.
- Pokémon ex rule: When your Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.
- Weakness None
- Resistance: None
- Retreat Cost: 2 basic energy
- Set: Lost Origin 131/196 VS
When it comes to knockouts, Girantina VSTAR is your primary Pokemon. Typically, you won’t be able to power up Girantina VSTAR until later in the game. This is due to needing 10 or more cards in the Lost Zone along with grass and psychic energy. Your early gameplay revolves around using multiple Pokemon and Trainers to fill up your Lost Zone while evolving Girantina VSTAR.
Once evolved, Girantina VSTAR can dominate enemies’ Pokemon. Typically, you want to focus on the highest health opposing Pokemon or one causing the most damage. If you have energy abundance, Lost Impact is your go-to attack. Save Star Requiem for Charizard ex or a Stage 2 Pokemon with a massive health pool. VSTAR abilities can only be used once per game, so pick your spots to KO the opponent’s most powerful Pokemon.
Comfey
Comfey Features in Pokemon TCG:
- Pokémon: Basic
- Type: Psychic
- HP: 70
- Flower Selecting: Once during your turn, if this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, you may look at the top 2 cards of your deck and put 1 of them into your hand. Put the other card in the Lost Zone.
- Spinning Attack: 30 damage + You may discard a Stadium in play.
- Pokémon ex rule: When your Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.
- Weakness ×2 Metal
- Resistance: None
- Retreat Cost: 1 basic energy
- Set: Lost Origin 79/196 Rare
This inconspicuous Pokemon, Comfey, acts as a Lost Zone accelerator allowing you to use the ability Flowering Selecting. With this ability, Comfey can put 1 card in the Lost Zone per Pokemon. The trick to using this Pokemon is retreating and having a backup Comfey to do the ability a second time in one turn. This deck utilizes a Switch Cart, Escape Rope, and Jet Energy for this purpose. By turn two, you should have 6-8 cards in your Lost Zone.
Colress’s Experiment
Colress’s Experiment Features in Pokemon TCG:
- Trainer: Supporter
- Look at the top 5 cards of your deck and put 3 of them into your hand. Put the other cards in the Lost Zone.
- Set: Lost Origin 155/196 Uncommon
The easiest way to fill up the Lost Zone is through Colress’s Experiment Supporter Trainer. This card allows you to look at the top 5 cards, put them into your hand, and two into the Lost Zone. If you combine this strategy with Comfey, you can get at least three cards into the Lost Zone per turn.
This card is very powerful to use on turn one if you go second. In that scenario, you are allowed to use a Support and can quickly get 3-4 Lost Zone cards. Combine Colress’s Experiment with Battle VIP Pass to gain at least two Comfey on turn one. On turn two, if you get 4 cards in the Lost Zone, begin attacking with Cramorant Pokemon. This Pokemon can attack with zero energy for 100 damage if 4 or more cards are in the Lost Zone.
Mirage Gate
Mirage Gate Features in Pokemon TCG:
- Trainer: Item
- You can use this card only if you have 7 or more cards in the Lost Zone.
- Search your deck for up to 2 basic Energy cards of different types and attach them to your Pokémon in any way you like. Then, shuffle your deck.
- Set: Lost Origin 163/196 Uncommon
If you have 7 or more cards in the Lost Zone, Mirage Gate accelerates energy to your Pokemon. This card allows you to search and attack 2 basic energy cards to Pokemon any way you like. This is your primary method for powering Girantina VSTAR.
The reason this is so strong is, that Giratina VSTAR requires two types of energy in an additional colorless. Often, you’re missing just one energy to make the first attack possible. Use Mirage Gate, and rush to 7 Lost Zone cards to power up Girantina VSTAR or any other Pokemon and start attacking.
Jet Energy
Jet Energy Features in Pokemon TCG:
- Special Energy: Energy
- As long as this card is attached to a Pokémon, it provides Colorless Energy.
- When you attach this card from your hand to 1 of your Benched Pokémon, switch that Pokémon with your Active Pokémon.
- Set: Paldea Evolved 190/193 Uncommon
The combination of Jet Energy with multiple Comfey’s is how you can quickly rack up Lost Zone Cards. This energy provides a Colorless, but its real strength is you can swap your bench Pokemon to active for free. This is why, on turn one, you want two Comfeys and a jet energy. You use the ability of the Comfey in the active spot while attaching Jet Energy to your bench Pokemon. Once switched, you use the ability a second time.
The Jet Energy combination works even on turn two, allowing you to use your Comfey ability, and then retreat to a second Comfey. This strategy nets you four Lost Zone cards by turn two automatically. Once you have four Lost Zone cards, you can start attacking with Cramorant basic Pokemon and do 110 with zero energy attached to it. Moreover, you can use Mirage Gate and power up any Pokemon on your bench.
How to Play Lost Zone Deck (Giratina VSTAR)
The overall premise behind the Lost Zone Girantina VSTAR deck is to quickly race to 10 Lost Zone cards. During the initial part of the game, rely heavily on Comfey and Colress’s Experiment for Lost Zone discards. Once you reach 4 Lost Zone cards, Cramorant can start attacking without energy doing 110 damage early in the game.
The next phase of the gameplay revolves around finding Giratina V and eventually Giratina VSTAR. Once you evolve Giratina VSTAR, continue to increase your Lost Zone cards until 7. With 7 or more cards, you can use Mirage Gate to locate and power up Giratina VSTAR quickly.
The last phase is reaching 10 Lost Zone cards to power up the Giratina VSTAR attack, which is an automatic Knockout. Sableye can also do a devastating attack for very low energy and can only work 1 prized card if knocked out. Most likely, your first two turns will be uneventful. However, getting 2 Comfey, and multiple Colress’s Experiment ensures 7 Lost Zone cards very quickly. Then move to get 10 Lost Zone Cards, powering, and attacking with the devastating Giratina VSTAR.
