In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Helldusk Gloves is a spellcaster armor piece for every class, and you can get it while visiting the House of Hope during Act 3 – this short Guide Explains everything you need to know about the Helldusk Gloves in BG3.
The Helldusk Gloves
In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Helldusk Gloves provide the ability to cast the Rays of Fire cantrip once per short rest. You gain a +1 bonus to Spell Attack Rolls and well as Spell Saves, in addition to a +1 to Strength Saving Throws. The Infernal Touch effect will give additional Fire damage to your weapon attacks or additional Necrotic damage to your unarmed attacks, which is something that could stack nicely with something like the Everburn Blade. The Helldusk Gloves are very worth grabbing, especially if you’re after the full Helldusk armor set.
You can equip it to your character’s gloves slot in the inventory, providing additional bonuses and buffs. There are no requirements for this item. You can equip it on any class, companion, or character.

How to Get Helldusk Gloves in Baldur’s Gate 3
The Helldusk Gloves can be found while visiting/breaking and entering into the House of Hope. You’ll need to gain access to the Boudoir, which is behind the ‘Mystic Force Curtain’ or force field you’ll find at the center north of the House. If you try to interact with it, you will be told that you need to present an invitation. You’ll need to visit the Archives on the west side of the House in order to speak with the Archivist. He has the invitation you need, and you can get it in one of two ways.
The first time you get near the entrance to the Archives, if you’ve engaged with Hope and said you would try to help her she will appear again and speak to you. You can ask her questions to try and learn more about the Archivist. If you’re successful, you’ll discover that he is fearful of authority figures. And a further check will tell you exactly who. Then, when you’re speaking with him directly, you can attempt to deceive him into thinking you’re the infernal magistrate.
If you’re aren’t able to get the information out of Hope, or if you fail to deceive the Archivist, or if you just don’t want to bother with any of that in the first place, you can simply steal the invitation. It’s highly recommended that you either have a custom character with high Dexterity and the Sleight of Hand skill, or bring Astarion with you. Take the invitation, and head back to the Mystic Force Curtain.
Once inside the room you’ll find a large pool in the center. Your target is around back behind the pool, but be sure to check out the Restoration Faucets first if you need to top off on your HP for the fight ahead. On the bed not far past the faucets you’ll find Haarlep. He’ll attempt to engage you in some debauchery, and you can either have a bit of fun or get straight to the deadly point.
Once you’ve defeated Haarlep, you’ll be able to loot the Helldusk Gloves from him. Also that fancy set of underwear, if you have a mind to. The key he carries unlocks a safe hidden behind a painting hanging on the wall to the west from the bed. You’ll see a button down below the painting. Before you click it, there should be a Perception check that will reveal a trap. Disarm it if you can, then press the button. It will reveal the wall safe and inside you will find 5 Soul Coins and some of Raphael’s notes. You’ll also discover the password to disable the magical shield on the Orphic Hammer, so don’t skip this bit!
If you didn’t or couldn’t disarm the trap, your party will get hit by a fiery explosion, but no worries – just stop by and use one of the Restoration Faucets before you leave!
Other Notable Loot in the House of Hope:
- Helldusk Helmet
- Helldusk Armour
- Staff of Spellpower
- Amulet of Greater Health
- Gauntlets of Hill Giant Strength
- Orphic Hammer
- Gloves of Soul Catching
