Learn the Destiny 2 the Other Half sword god roll for PvE and PvP content, the best perks, and how to get it!
The Other Half is an Adaptive Frame Void Sword reintroduced in Season of the Plunder that can be obtained from the Dares of Eternity activity. The Other Half is one of only two swords that can roll with the highly sought-after trait, Eager Edge.

It can only be obtained from the Dares of Eternity activity. It has a very, very low drop chance, but is craftable which alleviates some of the issues with acquiring the god roll. The Other Half is a powerful movement tool in PvE with the Eager Edge trait. This carries over into PvP as well, although the movement it allows is less useful there.
The Other Half PvE God Roll
Our best perks choices for the Other Half PvE God Roll are:
Feature | Perk |
---|---|
Blade | Enduring Blade |
Guard | Swordmaster’s Guard |
Column 3 Trait | Eager Edge |
Column 4 Trait | Whirlwind Blade |
Masterwork | Impact |
The Other Half (and its brother Half-Truths) are unique among sword god rolls. Most swords have the same (or extremely similar) god rolls, but that isn’t the case for this sword. Instead of trying to maximize damage, we want to get as much ammo as possible. Enduring Blade is the best option in that slot, but the guard slot is less important. Really anything will do, although I prefer Swordmaster’s Guard.
Eager Edge is what makes the Other Half a must-have sword for end-game PvE players. It is a powerful movement tool that allows players to move incredibly quickly and even bypass certain jumping puzzles. Because this weapon is mostly a movement tool, the fourth column trait isn’t as important. Whirlwind Blade is a good choice for those moments when you need to use the sword as a sword.
You won’t be using this weapon for damage or really for any other situation that requires a sword. That being said, it is an all-but-required movement tool for endgame PvE.
The Other Half PvP God Roll
Our best perks choices for the Other Half PvP God Roll are:
Feature | Perk |
---|---|
Blade | Jagged Edge |
Guard | Balanced Guard |
Column 3 Trait | Eager Edge |
Column 4 Trait | Vorpal Weapon |
Masterwork | Impact |
To be extremely frank, this weapon is one of the worst swords to use for PvP. Swords in general are already a very niche choice in PvP and the Other Half would be even more niche. Eager Edge allows for some interesting movement and speed, but the lack of heavy ammo makes it almost never able to be used.
If you are deadset on using this sword in PvP then increase its impact and guard resistance as much as possible. Keep Eager Edge to keep its uniqueness and add Vorpal Weapon to make it effective against supers. Even with these changes though you are better off with other weapons.
How to Get the Other Half in Destiny 2
The Other Half can be obtained from the Dares of Eternity playlist. It is available all the time but has an extremely low drop rate. It is craftable after obtaining only one Deepsight Resonance pattern. The Other Half sword can also rarely be obtained from Xur or the weapon’s chest at Xur’s Treasure Horde.
